What is the current state of antibiotic use and resistance in humans and animals around the globe? In low- and middle-income countries? What national-level strategies can help countries combat antibiotic resistance? These are the questions which the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP) attempted to answer with the launch this week (September 18, 2015), of two major projects: “The State of the World’s Antibiotics, 2015” — a comprehensive report on the status of antibiotic use and resistance around the world— and an expanded, updated and redesigned version of CDDEP’s ResistanceMap.
