The kick-off meeting of the Horizon 2020 project PrimeFish was held on April 14th & 15th 2015 in Iceland at the offices of Matis, the co-ordinator of the project. The Icelandic minister of Fisheries and Agriculture of Iceland, emphasized in his opening speech the key role of fisheries and aquaculture sectors in the European economy and highlighted the need of enhancement in the economic sustainability and competitiveness of this sector.
